Teacher's Aide Ltd ("we", "us") is a data controller under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.
Data we collect
Name, email, phone, county, account type, TSC number (optional), teaching level, subjects, lesson uploads, and AI prompts/outputs. School Admins additionally provide school name and tier.
How we use it
To provide the service, authenticate you, train your AI Twin, process payments, send transactional emails, and improve features. We never sell your data.
Lawful basis
Performance of contract, your consent (for marketing), and our legitimate interests in operating the platform safely.
Sharing
Limited processors only: our hosting/database provider, our payment processor, and our email provider, all bound by data processing agreements.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act you may access, correct, port, restrict, or delete your personal data, and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Teacher on Practice accounts are locked when the practice period ends; data may be retained for up to 12 months for reactivation, then deleted on request.
